Oamaru "on fire"
Oamaru “on fire“; Friday 31st May 2013 - a fire, steam, sound and lighting spectacular.
Last year’s event was an outstanding success. 3 000 people converged on Harbour Street for a wonderful evening of nonstop entertainment for everyone.
This year the event will take place on Friday 31 May from 6.30 – 9.00pm and promises to be even bigger and better than last year. It is an evening of fire themed entertainment for the entire family produced by professionals and again only $5 per person.
The unique Victorian Architecture of Harbour St will be beautifully illuminated with even more feature lighting displays, smoke effects, controlled explosions, projected images and films.
The lighting show sets the scene for the fire eaters, fire jugglers, stilt walkers, belly dancers and masquerade to dazzle the crowd with their breathtaking performances. Traction engines, motor bikes,a 20 pound WW2 Cannon, and a large Fire Service demonstration including the Command Unit will burst Harbour St into life even further for those that crave the smell of smoke and fumes
Live entertaiment will be a feature of the evening from start to finish. Local dance perfmers and bands will support NZ headline act The Beat Girls. This amazing band enjoys a huge fan base. Their musical tribute show brings together legendary songs, world class dance and outrageous costumes.
